Interludes Recital

on

On Wednesday 25, Miss Tull’s weekly Interludes Recital took place, featuring 5 musicians and an assortment of instruments. Anvi went first, performing ‘Where is Love?’ from Oliver! on the violin – a tender, expressive melody which had a beautiful vibrato and smooth bow control. Next, I played ‘La Tarantelle’ by J.F.F.Burgmuller on the piano. It was based on a folk dance originating in the southern of Italy in the city Taranto, which gives the piece its fast-paced tempo and rapid triplet rhythms. Elaine then played ‘Anji’ by David Graham on the guitar; a piece that blends blues, folk and early eastern influences. Next up was Saanvi on the piano, playing ‘Waltz in B Minor’ by Franz Schubert. It is a very delicate and charming piece, often played with a light rubato and a bouncy left hand. Last but not least was Emily who finished our recital with a beautifully performed piece, ‘Le petit ane blanc’ by Ibert on the alto saxophone. Well done to everyone who performed – it was delightful and engaging!
