The final Interludes Recital of this half term showcased Ella on the flute. She performed one of her pieces for her forthcoming Grade V exam to an attentive and supportive audience. The piece was Tico-Tico no Fuba by Zequinha de Abreu which is a famous melody that has also featured in the violin syllabus. The piece is full of contrasting sections, changing keys and tricky syncopated rhythms and Ella conveyed these qualities beautifully. Interludes Recitals can serve as a useful platform for practising forthcoming exam pieces in public, so as the ABRSM exams are approaching next month, we hope that many students will take advantage of airing their pieces on Wednesday lunchtimes after the half-term break.
