This week, three talented students showcased their musical skills in the latest Interludes Recital.

Teresa multi-tasked as a brilliant MC and performer by opening the recital with a mesmerising performance of Bourree 1 & 2 by Bach. It was fascinating to hear an unaccompanied cello piece played at close quarters, and the audience could appreciate the intricate bowing and finger work that was required for the piece.
Students in Upper III have been well represented at the Interludes so far this term and this week was no exception. Sophia played a piece that she has been preparing for her Grade V piano exam which was full of technical challenges. Amelia, a regular performer at the Interludes Recitals, swiftly followed to close the recital with a rousing rendition of a Canadian folk song. It was a wonderfully upbeat piece of music and Amelia conveyed the energy and spirit of the song admirably.
Thanks must be extended to the peripatetic teachers who prepare the students for these valuable performance opportunities and, as always, to the members of the audience who encourage our young musicians on their journey.
