‘SUPPORT’ VENICE, Lorenzo Quinn 2017

This ‘one of a kind’ sculpture was unveiled at the 57th International Art exhibition of the Venice Biennale. The bold piece greeted residents and visitors of Venice reminding them of the city’s relationship with water.

The idea is to depict that the sculpture is helping Venice. It also symbolises humankind’s capability to destroy the world and an equal capability to save the world too.

This sculpture inspires residents and visitors to think about their intimate relationship with the water and that of their homes; it also inspires other artists to help increase awareness of the fragile relationship between humans and the environment through their artwork.
