In Focus: Women’s Sport Through The Lens

on

The presence of trailblazing role models in women’s sport has been felt strongly this week with the installation of the ‘In Focus: Women’s Sport Through The Lens’ exhibition.  Direct from the Saatchi Gallery in London to the Hardcastle Hall at The Abbey in Reading, this remarkable collection of photographs from iconic moments in women’s sport has been enjoyed by students and visitors to the school.  One of those visitors was England Rugby 7’s player Emma Uren, who dropped in to The Abbey with Reading Girls’ Rugby at Reading RFC to deliver some student coaching for the Reading Festival of Sport.

One of the ways that students have been engaging with the themes and stories of the exhibition is by choosing their ‘hero’ images through a conversation led by House & Sport Captains.

The exhibition will open to local schools and the public next week and we are looking forward to sharing this inspiring collection with many more people in the Reading area. Please do share the booking link with friends & family which is on our website at www.theabbey.co.uk.
