Our school was alive with music during the week before half term for the annual House Music Competition, involving all pupils from Reception up to Lower III. The event saw close to 100 musicians from Lower I to Lower III perform instrumental solos across the Junior School, earning points for their respective houses.

The judges faced a tough task, acknowledging the impressive variety of instruments and musical styles and commending every child for playing with notable style and confidence, whether they were beginners or advanced players. The highlight was Friday’s House Songs, where the entire school came together. The younger students (Reception to Upper Prep) performed seasonal tunes like “Come to the Beach” and “Marching in the Snow,” while Lower I to Lower III delivered a lively set of songs by the legendary group Abba.

The results were as follows
Instrumental Classes
Lower I – Paget
Upper I – Kensington
Upper II – Ducat
Lower III – Kensington
Reception – Upper Prep song – Ducat
Lower I to Lower III song – Paget

Once all the totals were added together DUCAT were announced as the winners. This was the first time that Ducat had ever won House Music.
Well done to all who took part and for supporting each other in this musical event.
