In the middle of August I went to Stoneleigh for three days to take part in the British Showjumping National Championships with my pony, Connor. It was a family affair with my brother also competing on his pony, Stanley.
After securing sixth place in the National Junior 80cm Club Championship, Connor and I managed third in the National Junior 90cm Club Championship. We also came second as part of a team (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire) in the 90cm Academy Teams Championship. In the team event there were four of us in the team and we all competed in two rounds. The first round was all about going clear, and the second round it was also about time. You got four faults if you knocked down a fence or stopped at one. To get the overall score you add the top three scores in the team, and we finished on four faults.
My favourite moments were when we did the lap of honour and also spending time with everyone else in my team, as well as helping and watching my brother jump.I really enjoyed the whole experience and I hope to do it again next year.
