Senior School Celebrate Holi

This year, for the first time, the Senior school celebrated the Hindu Festival of Holi. The event was introduced to the students through an insightful assembly given by Manya and Anoushka (Upper V). They discussed how the key messages of being true to yourself and including those around you influence the festival. The students also shared how it is typically celebrated by Hindu communities. The festivities were carried out on Friday 14th of March with a T-shirt decorating activity in Richard’s Hall, a non-uniform day in bright colours and a couple of traditional dance performances. The catering team put on a delicious sample of Indian foods and we enjoyed brightly coloured cakes under the colourful hanging decorations in each dining hall.

If there’s an other occasion or message close to your heart that you would like to share with the community, please do get in touch. We are such a richly diverse and lively community and it is always heart-warming to see students learning more about each other and sharing what matters most to them.

Peace be with you,

Upper I Students Celebrate Holi – The Festival of Colours!

On Saturday, 15 March, some of our Upper I girls had the fantastic opportunity to attend a Holi festival, immersing themselves in the joy and vibrancy of this ancient Hindu celebration.

Holi, known as the Festival of Colours, marks the arrival of spring and symbolises love, unity, and the victory of good over evil. People celebrate by throwing brightly coloured powders, dancing to lively music, and sharing delicious festive foods. It is a time of togetherness, laughter, and renewal, bringing communities together in a joyful explosion of colour.

Our students had a wonderful time embracing the spirit of Holi, enjoying the music, tasting traditional treats, and, of course, getting covered in a rainbow of colours! It was a beautiful experience of culture and celebration.
