GSA Netball Tournament 2022

Under 13 Team

Last weekend, the U13 netball team competed in a netball tournament at Condover Hall. We also enjoyed outdoor activities, such as high ropes and zip wires.

The team also got many questions answered by a professional netball player who gave a talk about her netball journey. On Saturday we were put in a pool of teams which would determine whether they would be in the trophy, cup or plate! The first day was extremely successful as the U13s won almost all of their matches and only just missed out on being placed into the trophy.

The next day the girls faced a tough day as they played the top teams in the competition. However, the U13s ended up playing for 3rd place in the cup and played phenomenally well. Unfortunately, it was a hard match for the team and we only missed 3rd place by one goal! Everyone played brilliantly the whole weekend. Yasmina was given the award for best player in the cup category.

Under 14 Team

The squad got off to a bit of a difficult start on the first day, winning two matches, losing two and tying in a tough match against Norwich. So after a tiring day of netball, we decided to have a bit of fun at the activities around the site, doing the leap of faith, abseiling and making lots of friends.

The next day the team regrouped to find out we had progressed to the cup round. After a couple of team meetings, the U14’s rallied, winning five matches and only losing one. This gave us a good chance of winning, or at least placing in the cup finals. When the places were announced, the team were ecstatic as we had won on goal difference. We all had a great weekend!
