Final Termly Recital

on

The final Interludes Recital of the summer term was a special occasion showcasing the marimba with a beautiful oboe solo in between.

Janie explained a little about the marimba before performing a haunting unaccompanied piece called “Yellow After the Rain,” which depicted the sun after rainfall very evocatively.  Harshini then played a piece by Nielsen, which she had prepared recently for her oboe exam. Janie then concluded the academic year with a marimba duet and the piano in ragtime style, entitled “Jovial Jasper.”   Mr. Bradley was so intrigued that he even asked to try the marimba himself at the end of the recital!

Enormous thanks must be extended to all performers this year and to their dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and friendly audiences, who have provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere for them. See you in September!
