European Champion!

on

This week I competed for Team GB in an event called a biathle (1200m run, 200m swim, 1200m run) on Marathon beach in Athens. I have always enjoyed both swimming and running, and, via the school, have taken part in many biathlons over the years, and have had great fun doing these.

Having taken biathlon as far as I could, I was told that I could try another pathway into a multi-event discipline (like triathlon or pentathlon) which could potentially lead me onto national and then European championships (which is what I competed in this week). Unlike biathlon (a track run and a pool swim at separate times), biathle involves a park or sand run and a sea swim, with transitions in between. Thankfully I won by approximately 15 seconds, and I am the European Champion!
