The Northeastern University London essay competition was for students who are currently in Year 12 and over 4,000 entries were received.
The Abbey School Economics students achieved highly in this competition with half the cohort being highly commended for their essay. The topic was, “What are the most likely implications of the economic sanctions imposed on Russia?”
This was a complex issue for our students to consider and the girls spent considerable effort researching the issue. Such tasks help prepare the girls to tackle the increasingly complex essays that they will encounter in Year 13.
We are particularly pleased that Scarlett and Anjali are finalists and will be heading to London, all expenses paid, for the presentations in April.
