On Tuesday 24 September, we hosted our annual Economics Dress-Up Day where students and staff from across the school were invited to dress in costumes inspired by Economics.
Have a look at some of the amazing dress up ideas here!
It was incredible to see the variety and creativity on display, with both individual and group costumes capturing different economic concepts in unique ways. Costumes ranged from demerit goods, like bacon and fizzy drinks, to complementary goods such as salt and pepper.
There were depictions of currencies, imaginative interpretations of Monopoly, Robin Hood representing income redistribution, Sephora shoppers, characters from Hamilton, a Covid test, Donald Trump, a DHL driver, tax evaders, and even Mr Fabinger and Mr Grant!
During lunchtime, all participants gathered in the Chapel, where their costumes were judged for a variety of prizes, with the top prize being a £25 Amazon voucher. One of the day’s highlights was seeing younger students get introduced to a subject they might not typically encounter. The winners will be announced in upcoming assemblies: Monday 7 October for Lower V-Upper VI and staff, and Friday 22 November November for Upper III-Upper IV. Stay tuned!
