On 14 May The Abbey’s budding new designers from Lower V and Lower VI took a journey of discovery to The Design Museum in Kensington.
Here they visited the major exhibition celebrating the life’s work of Enzo Mari, one of the greatest and most prolific designers of the 20th Century. They also took part in a workshop looking at present and future sustainable materials. This trip was timed to coincide with the start of a new project for the LV fueling their inspiration towards exciting concepts and possibilities which they are all more than capable of. In this time where we face the onset of ecological issues echoing Mari’s uncompromising belief in the social responsibility of ethical design, it was amazing to see our young creatives energised by the wealth of opportunity and importance of their potential undertaking in becoming the next generation of innovative designers.
