Congratulations to Lottie, Ana, Emma and Charlotte in Lower V for winning this year’s currency design competition. 

We entered the LV currency competition with our currency – “Le Flems” inspired by our headteacher, Mr Le Fleming.

There are 16 coins, each based on a different department in our school. We randomly selected a teacher and asked them their favourite colour and their favourite number, which became the colour and value of the coin. For example, for Computer Science we chose Mr Bradley who picked dark green and 31, and for Maths Miss Field chose black and π for her number.

For the three languages, French, Spanish and German we decided to make these useable in France, Spain and Germany to save you the faff of having to exchange your money before you go on holiday. We also decided to make Le Flems eco friendly and when our currency is established inside our school, the tuck shop will become cheaper and with an Abbey Bank ROSA card (essentially a loyalty card) you get one free item per week!
