Classics Matters Newsletter

Welcome to the newest issue of Classics Matters, where ancient worlds continue to inspire modern minds, introduced—as ever—by a fresh classical quotation. In this edition, we reflect on our visit to Bacchae, explore Roman Britain through the LIV trip to the Roman Baths, and celebrate scholarly engagement at the Wycombe Abbey Classics Conference. Student voice and enrichment take centre stage with a seminar on Mithras by our Classics Prefect Esme and an evening of Pizza and Percy Jackson with the Classics Society. We also look beyond our borders with the grand opening of the Egyptian Museum, promote Classics clubs and competitions at the Abbey, and recommend our Book of the Term. We hope you enjoy exploring another vibrant term in the Classics Department.
