This week at the Junior School we have acknowledged Children’s Mental Health Week and embraced the theme of ‘Grow Yourself, Know yourself’. We started the week with a whole school assembly discovering why self- awareness is so important for our wellbeing and held a ‘dress to express‘ day, celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of our students.

Throughout the week our Wellbeing Warriors led breaktime sessions including mindful colouring, self-awareness questionnaires, wellbeing chat sessions and yoga meditation. Mrs Hammond, JS Wellbeing co-ordinator, said ‘With 1 in 5 children facing mental health challenges, it is so important for us to help our young people speak up and feel empowered to talk about mental health. Understanding emotions helps children to build self-awareness and resilience, supporting them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
