12 students represented The Abbey at the English Chess Federation Rapidplay chess tournament for secondary schools at Eton College yesterday. 45% of the best chess-playing schools from all over Britain and Ireland took part and The Abbey entered two teams of 6 players.

Both teams performed well against a very high standard of opposition and achieved some good results including the A team’s 6-0 win against Latymer Upper and the B team’s win against Cheam High School. 

There were good personal performances from Csilla, Jo and Anoushka.
