Chess Champion

Sameera, in Upper IV, won top girl in the U14 and also in the U16 section in the London Junior Chess Championship (LJCC).

She also got two required norms (i.e. two high levels of performance in a chess tournament) by getting the points required and so she got selected for the National Chess Junior Squad, which is a great achievement.

Sameera will be playing on Board 1 for The Abbey’s A team in the Rapidplay Chess tournament at Eton College on 18 January and in the National Girls’ Schools Chess Championships Southern semi-final on 25 January. So we look forward to more success for her, and our other chess players, in those tournaments.
