Celebrating Success: Triumph in the Bebras Computing Challenge 2025!

on

We are absolutely thrilled to share the phenomenal results from this year’s Bebras Computing Challenge! This international competition is a fantastic opportunity for our girls to test their computational thinking and problem-solving skills, and they have truly made us proud.

As a school dedicated to fostering high achievement in all areas, particularly in Computing where we actively champion girls’ engagement, these results are a wonderful reflection of the hard work put in by our students.

A total of 122 students took part across all age categories in Junior School alone. Their collective performance was brilliant, resulting in an amazing 21 girls being awarded a prestigious Gold Certificate.

The Gold Certificate is given to students who score in the top 10% of all participants nationally. The fact that 21 of our girls achieved this level means that the proportion of our students in the national elite is nearly double the expected rate. and were over 70% more likely to achieve an elite, top 10% score compared to national results. This is a very powerful indicator of the outstanding foundational computational thinking skills being developed here at the Junior School.

Consistent Excellence Across All Age Groups

We are immensely proud of our results, and you can see how our students consistently outperform across the board:

Across every single category—Kits, Castors, and Juniors—our Prep School average score exceeded both the Berkshire and National averages. The Castors group (ages 8-10) showed particular strength, with their average score of 78 being truly impressive.

We offer our warmest congratulations to all 122 girls who participated and demonstrated commitment and every participant will be presented with a certificate when we return in January. We are incredibly proud of this fantastic set of Bebras results, which clearly shows that our girls are developing the essential logical and analytical skills to be leaders in technology and we look forward to celebrating with them.

James Stevens, Head of Digital Learning at the Junior School said of the results “I am immensely proud of our students in getting these results, its testament to the hard work they bring to Computing lessons every week and how they engage with our specialist curriculum. Our students love Computing, and these results are evidence of the excellent foundations we build in Junior School.”
