CAREERS FAIR 2026

on

Over 1,200 people signed up to attend The Abbey Careers Fair 2026 where they had the opportunity to speak to experts at the top of their fields, university representatives and listen to our keynote speaker, Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith.

Last Thursday students and their parents toured our vast range of industry specialists from TV producers and marketing managers, to the Armed Forces, artists and authors.

Our Finance and Accounting zone included Deloitte, EY, James Cowper Kreton, Goldman Sachs and more. Our Medical zone included a surgeon, dentist, paediatric consultant, paramedics, and dietitian. In the Construction and Engineering zone you could speak to experts from Network Rail, Transport for London, Willmott Dixon as well as senior engineers, construction project managers, design directors and others.

There was such an impressive range of industries to inspire our students and we are very proud that over 50 of the exhibitors were Abbey alumnae. They were a shining example of what students here go on to achieve.

What made this evening so beneficial for our students was the fantastic calibre of our experts – a Partner at Deloitte, NHS surgeon, IT Director, BBC presenter, Legal Director, we could go on and on.

We are so grateful that our guests gave up their time to share their vast experience and invaluable insights.

Top universities including Imperial, Durham, Exeter and Warwick attended, giving advice on the application process and what their university can offer.

We were also honoured to welcome Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith to deliver our keynote speech. Ruby was recognised as a top 50 female world business leader by The Financial Times in 2013. She spoke so inspiringly about the changing face of careers and the workplace, encouraging students to find their passion.

The whole school felt alive with aspiration and it was fantastic to see so many young people discovering more about future careers, opportunities and how to achieve their dreams.
