Our Abbey Artists in Residence ran a wonderful ink painting workshop with art students this week. This was a valuable opportunity for scholars to learn directly from experts. Our Artists, Isaac and Connell shared their knowledge and expertise through live demonstrations coupled with collaborative critiques, and guidance. They introduced techniques ranging from traditional brush control and calligraphic strokes to approaches such as abstract ink washes and experimental layering. The students were able to experiment, create and had a fun and lively session.

We feel that in a time when art education is increasingly focused on digital tools, the tactile and contemplative nature of ink painting is a great reminder of the value of tradition in shaping future creativity.
A big thank you to our Artists in Residence, Connell & Isaac for designing and running this fun, interactive workshop!
