AF Harrold Pops Up at the Abbey for a Party

on

What to do if a bear is in your cornflakes or an antelope hides among your croissants? Don’t worry! The well-known local poet and author, AF Harrold, has the answer! Students in Upper I to Lower III from both the Junior School and a Reading partnership school enjoyed hearing AF Harrold’s sage advice about animals in their breakfasts in the entertaining ARCH event held at The Abbey. The fun-filled Pop-Up Poetry Party, taking place after school on Tuesday, 4 February 2025 in the Hardcastle Hall of the Senior School, proved to be an amusing, poetry-filled occasion for all taking part. AF Harrold led the children on a delightful romp through the world of words and rhythm. Students then took up the challenge of beginning to put their own words on a page in the form of kenning poems. Some fabulous new poems will no doubt ‘pop up’ from of the roomful of enthusiastic, budding writers in attendance!
