Abbie is about to begin a 4 year apprenticeship at Goldman Sachs, after achieving an impressive A* in Geography, A in Maths and Economics and A in EPQ in her A levels.
On securing a place on one of the most fiercely fought for programmes in the country, Abbie says, “I am very proud to secure the degree apprenticeship, especially given how competitive the process was. I am excited to be starting my career at a firm like Goldman Sachs.”
“I’m looking forward to gaining hands-on experience in the financial sector while studying towards a degree in Finance and Investment. I will be in an environment where I can learn from industry experts, develop professional skills early and apply what I learn in university directly to real projects.”
Abbie thanked her teachers at The Abbey for their support, “Having been at The Abbey since nursery, I’ve had access to a wide range of opportunities. The school – and especially the economics department – encouraged me to take part in national competitions like the Girls Are Investors Challenge, which my team won, and Tycoon Enterprise. My economics teacher, Mr Grant, was particularly supportive throughout the GS application process – from interview prep during free periods to answering last-minute questions. I’m really grateful for all of the guidance and support.”
