A Franco-German breakfast experience in Reading!

on

During Trips Week, Lower V French and German students had an exciting trip to Paul’s Bakery in Reading, where many of them tried a variety of French delicacies ranging from raspberry croissants to the iconic dish of cannelés from Bordeaux. The inside of the bakery was laced with hints of French artistry and the food was absolutely incredible. This allowed us to experience authentic French cuisine.

I had one of the raspberry croissants as well as a blueberry tart which had a mixture of shortness from the pastry and creaminess from the filling. It was a very exciting day as we got to practise a bit of French (if we were bold enough!) as well as trying exciting food and being with our friends! C’était tellement incroyable!

I enjoyed a dark chocolate and hazelnut muffin with a classic French Orangina. This little hint of France was delicious. We even had to order in French this helped us not only improve our communication skills but also the French language. We all commented on how helpful this trip was to widen our French understanding while getting to taste some incredible French pastries.
