Students at The Abbey are celebrating outstanding GCSE results today including a phenomenal almost nine out of ten of every grade awarded being at 9 – 7 (A* and A).

- 40% of grades were the top grade 9

Impressively, almost a quarter of the year group have at least eight grade 9s or higher. Nearly half of the cohort have at least eight grade 8s and 9s. In over half of the subjects offered, 90% or more of the grades were 9 – 7s.

Highlights include two students scoring an incredible 100% across all Maths papers. Across the whole cohort of 107, 96% of students scored grades 9 – 7 in Maths. Meanwhile in Biology an extraordinary 98% of students scored 9 – 7.
These excellent outcomes were secured across 26 subject disciplines, showing the range of learning and aspiration of Abbey students.

Head of The Abbey, Dr Sarah Tullis, commented: “We are so proud of our students and their superb results today. These wonderful grades come from the hard work and dedication of students and staff over two years. They are also testament to our all-girls environment and the academic stretch and support The Abbey provides. We know and value every individual and celebrate her personal successes. We put girls first and that helps our students to flourish in and outside the classroom. We cannot wait to see how our students build on these fantastic grades and take their next steps into Sixth Form and beyond, seeking opportunities, pursuing ambitions and living with joy.”
